Game of Thrones 7, Episode 5
EASTWATCH
WHERE WE ARE AT RIGHT NOW:
1 We already knew that life is cheap on Game of Thrones -- so the unfortunately named Dickon killed his hunting friends because they were bending knees to different queens, and in just one match lighted by Drogon, two Tarlys were gone. There wasn’t even a five-minute discussion.
While they were not particularly on our favourites list, we don’t (really) hate these Tarlys (right?). It’s not that difficult to imagine they’d eventually switch sides. But, sigh, they were not that well informed about immigrants and definitely not open to them. Also, life is cheap on Game of Thrones.
“I’m not here to murder.” - Daenerys, in between “Dracarys!”
2 There's no point in picking on the logistics of Westeros, but, again, pointless things are part of what we do. In this episode, we have Davos proving that he can cover more miles than the dragons, going Dragonstone - King’s Landing - Dragonstone - Eastwatch with no problem.
“I thought you might still be rowing.” - Davos to Gendry, because the entire internet deserves this nod.
So, Jon is currently leading the Northern Misfits raiding party of Tormund, Thoros, Beric, the Hound, Jorah and Gendry to get a wight to show to Cersei. A plan that also involves Tyrion sneaking into King’s Landing to propose a ceasefire to Jaime and convince him that they have a bigger problem up north for now. This is one of the oddest plans yet, even by Tyrion's standards.
3 It’s imminent.
Jon and Daenerys is going to happen *knocks head on desk*.
Drogon has practically called him “dad”.
4 Speaking of which ie relationships of similar nature, Jaime gets teary-eyed when told by Cersei -- who, by the way, looks crazier by the day -- that she's pregnant. Ugh. These people.
5 Other updates:
- Gilly just uncovered a huge secret about steps and annulment, announcing it in a conversation that's practically ignored by Sam. They are now leaving the Citadel because Sam is fed up being ignored by his professors.
- Arya got a tad annoying towards Sansa, making little remarks about how Sansa probably would love to rule Winterfell herself. Sansa is in a different league now, managing a country and juggling five million things at once, she almost didn't have the time and patience for such accusations.
- To add to that, Arya is also probably being played by Littlefinger right now in a little scavenger hunt planted by him.
