Cheat Work Thursday

If there's one thing I've learned from my recent years' adventure : the most satisfying and self-rewarding thing a person can do for a living is one that makes other people happy. How many times are we allowed to change careers in a lifetime? I'd say knock yourself out. Be a depressed accountant this year, a clueless chef next year and an even more clueless personal shopper the following year. Ok, I wouldn't take career advice from me either. My small flaw, however, I get bored easily. No matter how much I love something, there's a chance I'll get bored eventually. I have a huge respect towards anyone who can stay doing the same thing for a straight 10 years. How do they do that? Passion? Patience? Or am I just simply an ungrateful person? Accordingly, I've been doing a bit of questioning and thinking about my work direction lately.

I spent hours over the long weekend reading about Gaza and trying to figure out why my blog label didn't work while playing Bryan Adams' Summer of '69 hundreds of times. So apparently, some HTML codes were missing from my template, but it's all ok now. I think. I've also been busy digging through the very hilarious startingoverat24's and clevergirlgoesblog's archives. I'll put up my reading list soon. Some time ago, during one of my looong-lunches-to-coffee-to-dinner-LIFE-IS-GOOD-HERE-IN-THE-COFFEE-SHOP-LET'S-NOT-GO-HOME-EVER with a friend, we talked about two people* with something in common expecting two countries to get along while they themselves can't even be in the same room for five minutes. *Might or might not be real people we know / in-laws to each other / one of them is that friend's husband / one of them is that friend's father / one of them is not from here. Referring to other little issues in our own lives, perhaps ...

I'll be driving again this weekend. Road trips mean singing out of tune and hours of lame jokes. I'm currently listening to: 1) Katy Perry's Hot & Cold. 2) Britney Spears' Womanizer. (Who's not awake by this song?) 3) Estrella's Stay. (Throw in a convertible and a nice weather for effect.) Happy New Year.
