"MILLION DOLLAR GAMBLE"
That second tribal council is going to give me PTSD for a very long time.
Should Jessica flip, though? The opinions on the street are:
YES - it's still a long way to go to draw rocks at final 10.
NO - because you play to win, not just to move further in the game.
NO - as a viewer, I love watching people fighting hard for their sides. We've seen people flip, then one side gets systematically eliminated, followed by a bitter jury (allegedly). So I don't want to see that again, at least not for a while. I want to see gutsy decisions from 10 people with spines.
But the rock draw was not the only thing that's making me geek out right now. It was the whole story. From everyone knowing very well how equally divided the tribe was, to Adam and Hannah buying Sunday's simple deception, to the two sides nail-bitingly trying to come out of the battle alive, to ultimately a heartbreaking result. It's heartbreaking because we like both sides.
And that wasn't a live tribal. You don't go solid 5-5 "live". (At the beginning of the tribal, Jessica said she was confused. I don't understand why.) So, Sunday saying "Ken" must have been planned. We didn't hear anyone mention Ken at camp.
Side notes:
- There's a backlash (on the internet, where else) towards Bret and Zeke for their comments to David. The comments were uncalled for, but I feel like even David can brush it off. So can the rest of the world, I think. In fact, I watched the tribal, increasingly impressed at how calm Zeke is.
- Not only Jay and his idol are still safe, they are also on the right side of the numbers!
But let's go back six days and summarize where everyone was at.
The two-hour episode starts with Will telling Zeke that Jay has an idol -- as a way of making friends with Zeke and, apparently, Hannah, because Will's jumping off the sinking ship. He makes Zeke promise not to tell anyone about it.
Well.
Two seconds later, Zeke tells David.
David tells Chris.
David tells Hannah.
Zeke tells Hannah.
Chris tells Bret.
David tells Ken.
Zeke tells Chris.
Chris suggests Jessica's name to his side of alliance of Bret, Sunday and Zeke with the plan to make the target look like Jay to flush Jay's idol at the same time.
But it's David who brings up Chris' name because he wants to break the Chris-Bret-SundayTrust Cluster lol. He has Ken and Jessica, and hopes to pull in Zeke, Adam and Hannah. This plan is music to Jessica's ears.
In the end, Zeke sides with David, and Chris is voted out.

- And what do you know, David, too, is talking about going after Zeke.

- Zeke tries to recruit Hannah and Adam.
- Zeke and Bret bond during the picnic reward over being gay at different times.
- After the reward, Hannah tells David about Zeke's plan, including the fact that Zeke had told her about David's idol.
- When Zeke asks Hannah again about where she stands, she resorts to being the worst liar, looking up to the sky and freezing with her answer.
- Zeke goes to Will, Bret, Sunday and Jay to solidify his side, shifting the target to Hannah.
- Hannah goes to Adam, and they both decide to side with David.
At tribal, after it looks like both sides are standing their ground, David plays his idol on Ken based on Adam and Hannah's recon ie hearing Sunday say their target is "Ken". The target is not Ken, it's Zeke.

So, the entire heart-racing tribal ends with Jessica going home.
